Religion in Africa was believed to have originated in Egypt around 3000 BC. At this time people were worshipping gods such as Isis, Osiris, Ra and the Amen. Nubian Gods such as Bes, traveled North to Egypt as well. People of West Africa were more monotheistic and believed that there was only one God. This one God they believed in varied from a Sun God, to a Sky God and other natural things that human beings can normally see. Around 500 AD, the Bantu people gradually expanded across South Africa and brought their religion along with them. Over the years, African religions have gradually increased and varied a lot depending on which part of Africa a person is from. African religion is one of the most important aspects of the continent and will probably remain that way.
